Cathy Doughty

Cathy Doughty joined Capitol Advocacy in 2016 as a Legislative Assistant supporting Kristy Wiese. In addition to supporting Kristy, Cathy works closely with the entire Capitol Advocacy team to develop individualized political involvement plans and ensure clients are informed throughout the year as their plans evolve. 

Cathy brings decades of experience to her role as a Legislative Assistant. In addition to facilitating meetings, coordinating conference calls and travel arrangements, she organizes several legislative days throughout the year. Her ability to problem-solve quickly and stay organized in a fast-paced environment has proven valuable for clients. She specializes in coordinating meetings, particularly by cultivating relationships with California’s toughest bureaucracies. 

Prior to joining Capitol Advocacy, Cathy worked as a Legal Secretary specializing in areas of Local and Municipal Law, as well as Real Estate/Land Development. She was also an Executive Assistant for a local land developer. 

Cathy has a degree in Legal Administration and resides in Sacramento with her husband Scott and their dog, Queenie.
